[Shorewall-users] shorewall-5 incompatible with shorewall-lite 4.5.7?

Greetings all...

Having upgraded my "control" station to F24 which has shorewall 5.0.8.2
on it it's failing to work with the shorewall-lite on my router which
is at 4.5.7:

Shorewall configuration compiled to /etc/shorewall/gw-BB/firewall
Copying /etc/shorewall/gw-BB/firewall and /etc/shorewall/gw-BB/firewall.conf to gw:/etc/shorewall-lite/state...
firewall 100% 172KB 172.2KB/s 00:00
firewall.conf 100% 440 0.4KB/s 00:00
Copy complete
Usage: shorewall-lite [debug|trace] [nolock] [ -q ] [ -v[-1|{0-2}] ] [ -t ] <command>

Is this expected?

Yes. That is expected - shorewall and shorewall-lite must be in sync.
Not exactly same version required but version nearby.
